Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos held talks on ways to deepen India's engagement with ASEAN, FM Bharat reported on Sunday. The discussion was part of a broader diplomatic push between the two countries.
The meeting came as Philippine companies signaled plans to expand into India. According to Inquirer.net, Indian tech and manufacturing firms are eyeing a $67-million expansion, while SunStar Publishing reported the figure at $66.8 million in Philippine investments.
Marcos returned to the Philippines citing diplomacy and investment as gains from BRICS, the Philippine News Agency reported. A separate report by the Daily Tribune described the India tour as successful and earning praise.
